Sesame Street

Mobile education platform for third world children

Working with Sesame Workshop (the non-profit organisation behind Sesame Street) we have developed an education platform and mobile apps to educate children from some of the poorest communities of South Africa’s Eastern Cape, Mexico and soon-to-be released in India and the Middle East.

Several Healthy Play apps in English, Afrikaan, isiXhosa and Spanish have been created with an educational focus on sanitisation and healthy living; a major problem in the target regions.

The apps provide teachers and aid workers with the step-by-step instructions for a series of educational games – which themselves require no technology – for children to play in groups of up to 20.

The apps have been developed for various smartphone and web platforms, but most notably also as a native Java (J2ME) app for the old-style feature phones; still popular in South Africa due to their low cost compared to modern smartphones.

We are immensely proud of this work by the awesome team in our New York office.
